This whole Yahoo deal with MSN is crazy to read about. There are just so many opinions out there. I would guess the behind the scene action is really exciting. I'm starting to think Yahoo won't be bought (yet, at least). The Yahoo brand is REALLY strong. And alot of people still use Yahoo (me included).
If they do stay independent. Things need to change fast.
For one thing, I'm using Google Reader to read all about this subject. Maybe Yahoo should pay attention to that.

Big Idea
One of the secrets to success is to think big. People tend to think small. I'm planning on doing something BIG.
Impact is a key word I believe in. I want mine to be big. I need to DO SOMETHING that will accomplish that.

Vote Hillary Clinton
I'm all pumped to go vote in the primaries today. It's rare that America has had such upstanding first class canidates to choose from (at least on the Democrat side). The big decision is between Hillary and Obama and I've chosen Hillary hands down.
Not only is she nice, but she is intelligent. She is a strong leader. And, she has excellent values. I really believe she is the best person to lead America in these difficult times. After 8 years of Bush, America must find itself again. She has the vision and experience to do this.
Obama lost my vote when he began pandering to conservative democrats. He has led an awful disinformation campaign about Hillary Clinton's universal healthcare (which will come back to haunt the issue). Plus, any democrat who praises Reagan has a different opinion about what progressive means. I still believe he has what it takes to be a great president, but Hillary will simply do it better.
Republicans are probably going to nominate John McCain (and kill any chance of winning this election). That guy can't get any more unlikeable.
Anyways, Let's just hope that a Clinton/Obama ticket emerges in the next month (I think it will).

Microsoft + Yahoo > Google ?
The big news of the morning is that Microsoft has offered to buy Yahoo for 44.6 billion dollars. WOW. That's a lot of money and it seems like too good a deal for Yahoo to pass up.
If these two giants merge, can they create enough synergy to challenge the king of the internet, Google? Yes, they can.
It's no secret that these once traditional search engine companies are moving beyond search. This battle is about advertising, e-mail, social networks, RSS, webware, and much much more.
Google has stomped all over them. With an arsenal of services such as search, blogger, google docs, google calendar, gmail, google reader, and YouTube, Google is the current leader in the web 2.0 world (And a big lead they have I might add).
By merging, these two companies can create synergy by combining their strengths. Think about it...
1. Yahoo Mail is much better and popular than gmail.
2. Microsoft Office (while not yet online) is much better than Google Docs.
3. Flickr has a much larger active user base than Picasa.
4. Microsoft has a formidable advertising base to compete against Google Ad Words.
5. The "Yahoo" brand is very well known.
Mergers are never a magical solution... But Google is so far ahead of the pack, merging seems like a good idea to me.
